Hope you have solved the problem Gary. We have a Sony model here now to test, but it doe not show any similar problem. Nissin don't use exactly the same protocols as the original maker. I guess this kind of conflict can happen, just as it can with third party lenses. The error you describe more often happens with lenses.

Good day Sir! I bought a Nissin Di466 and i have a Canon 1000D. After several shots the entire system hang. My camera keeps on blinking and cannot take a shot. I have to remove the battery of my canon and after putting it back, I could use my camera again but will experience the same problem after several shots. I borrowed an original canon flash and there seems to be no problem. Can you please help me. Thanks

There is no VR models for Nikon other than the lens.

It will work with D90 and D60 on their official website.

Di466 is a great flashgun BUT it lacks a PC socket, which is a pity. You can't use a hotshoe to PC lead with it eather as the centrepin with the outside terminal do not trigger the flash. This means it can't be used with a radio slave receiver. That's a real disappointment. I spoke to Kenro about it and they couldn't work it out either. So, potential buyers, be aware of this.
